Shelby County sits at the easternmost edge of East Texas. The Sabine River and Toledo Bend Reservoir form its eastern boundary. It is bordered on the east by Desoto and Sabine Parishes in Louisiana. To travel from Shelby County to Tyler go northwest on State Highway 87 through Huber to Timpson. In Timpson turn left on U.S. 59 and right on U.S. 84 proceeding through Caladonia and Mount Enterprise to Reklaw. In Reklaw turn right on Highway 204 and right again on State Highway 110. Proceed north through New Summerfield and Blackjack to Troup. In Troup turn left on Highway 110 toward Tyler and go through Whitehouse and the intersection with Loop 323 in Tyler.
