Jefferson, Texas, is the county seat of Marion County and sits at the intersection of U.S. 59 and Highway 49 on Caddo Lake. The 2000 census population was 2,024. Continue to follow U.S. Highway 80 West and turn left onto Texas Highway 31 West. Bear right onto Texas Highway 31 West toward Tyler and turn left in Tyler on South Southeast Loop 323/Texas 323 Loop South and continue to follow Texas 323 Loop South.
