The Deadly Race |

In its
push for e-commerce dominance, Amazon has built a huge logistics operation in
recent years to get more goods to customersâ?? homes in less and less time. But
Amazonâ??s promise of speedy delivery has come at a price. An investigation by
ProPublica identified more than 60 accidents since June 2015 involving Amazon
delivery contractors that resulted in serious injuries, including 10 deaths.
That tally is most likely a fraction of the accidents that have occurred: Many
people donâ??t sue, and those who do canâ??t always tell when Amazon is involved,
court records, police reports and news accounts show.

American Airlines Removed Man From Flight Over Dog Allergy |
|
American
Airlines is facing a lawsuit by a passenger who was removed from a flight over
his allergy to another passenger's support dog. The plaintiff, an
African-American man, alleges he was discriminated against when flight staff
moved him from his first class seat during a flight from Phoenix to Austin.
American Airlines claims it made "all attempts to accommodate [the plaintiff]"
before eventually removing him from the flight.

to Pay $170 Million for Violating Children's Privacy on YouTube |
|
Google
will pay a $170 million fine for violating the privacy of children on YouTube.
On Wednesday, the tech giant agreed to pay the record fine and make changes to
its privacy policy concerning child users. Regulators charged Google with
knowingly and illegally harvesting personal information from children and
using it to profit by targeting them with ads. The Federal Trade Commission
and New York's attorney general accused YouTube of violating the federal
Childrenâ??s Online Privacy Protection Act, or COPPA.

Lawsuit:
Lyft Fails to Protect Passengers |
|
Lyft has
failed to conduct adequate background checks for its drivers, allowing for a
pattern that "induces" young, unaccompanied or intoxicated female passengers
to use its service and subjects them to harassment and sexual assault,
according to a complaint filed Wednesday in California. The lawsuit, brought
by at least 14 unnamed plaintiffs alleges that as early as 2015, Lyft became
aware that drivers were sexually assaulting and raping female customers. The
suit says, it "continues to hire drivers without performing adequate
background checks" or implement "reasonable driver monitoring
procedures."
