Woman
Sues Over "Violent" Head Injury at Disneyland's Space Mountain |
|
An Alaska
resident has filed suit alleging she suffered a head injury on the Space
Mountain ride at California's Disneyland. According to the lawsuit, the woman
'violently struck' her head against a low concrete ceiling after the coaster
malfunctioned and the ride was diverted into a dimly lit maintenance tunnel.
An attendant failed to mention the low ceiling as riders were exiting, alleges
the complaint. The injury lawsuit was filed in California federal court and
seeks $3 million.

Suit Filed Over Southern Baptist Seminary Student Accused of Rape |
|
A former
seminarian described in a lawsuit as repeatedly raping a fellow student at
Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth later allegedly choked
and threatened to kill another woman in Oklahoma and committed other crimes
soon after leaving the school, public records show. In her pending federal
lawsuit, that former student, identified only as Jane Roe, claims that Paige
Patterson, then the seminary president and a nationally-known Southern Baptist
leader, humiliated her when she reported the rapes to him and endangered her
by sharing confidential information with her alleged attacker in 2015.

Michigan
Bans Flavored Electronic Cigarettes |
|
Michigan
will become the first state in the nation to ban flavored e-cigarettes
Wednesday in a move Gov. Gretchen Whitmer says is aimed at protecting youth.
The ban, reported Wednesday by the Washington Post, will take effect
immediately and last for six months, at which point it is up for renewal.
State legislators will push for something more permanent in the meantime.
The move will ban online and retail sales of sweet, fruity, minty and
menthol-flavored vaping products, but will not apply to tobacco flavors, the
Post reports. Michigan businesses have 30 days to comply with the
order.
