Drowns in Grease Trap, Mother Files Notices of Claim |
|
The
mother of a boy who died after falling into a grease trap in Rochester, New
York, is filing suit against the city of Rochester and Monroe County. The
woman recently filed notices of claim with both parties, signaling a lawsuit
may be coming. The 3-year-old boy drowned in a grease trap at the University
Avenue Tim Hortons in July. The mother alleges the city and county were
responsible for the child's wrongful death and were negligent in their
management of the grease trap, which was not bolted in place.

Ohio Man Died After Car With Keyless Ignition Ran All Night |
|
A man
from Green, Ohio, died after his vehicle ran all night in his carport. The
94-year-old man died in his sleep when his car, which had a keyless ignition,
remained running and filled his home with carbon monoxide. His family has
filed suit against Toyota, the maker of the man's car, which did not include
an emergency shutoff feature. Reports show that 34 people with keyless
ignitions have died of carbon monoxide poisoning since 2006 after failing to
turn off their vehicle.
