Lawsuits
Filed Over CBD Products |
|
Even
though hemp products at THC concentrations below 0.3 percent are now legal
under Texas law and federal law, in some cases, a positive THC result on a
drug test may derail an employment opportunity and has resulted in some
employees losing their jobs. A small number of CBD manufacturers are parties
to lawsuits alleging that their products have caused people to lose their
jobs, according to reporting from Consumer Reports. Experts in the field are
describing the situation as complex and say things are likely to get more
complex before any governmental guidance is available.

Over Surfer's Death at Texas Surf Park Alleges Cover Up |
|
A lawsuit
over a surfer's death at BSR's surf resort in Waco, Texas alleges the resort
owners attempted to cover up details of the death. According to attorneys at a
pretrial hearing, BSR tried to cover up evidence of a deadly brain-eating
amoeba that possibly led to the death of a New Jersey surfer last year. The
lawsuit was filed in April in Wacoâ??s 414th State District Court by the
surfer's parents and seeks more than $1 million from BSR Surf Resort, Parsons
Barefoot Ski Ranch and BSR Cable Park.
