Soldier
Forced to Get Anthrax Vaccine Sues, Judge Recommends Dismissal |
|
A judge
recommends the dismissal of a lawsuit filed by an American soldier who says
she was forced to get anthrax vaccines. The Joint Base Lewis-McChord soldier
filed suit in U.S. District Court in Tacoma, Washington. According to the
plaintiff, she was forced to get unnecessary anthrax vaccines in 2017 and 2018
that made her progressively ill. The plaintiff alleges she suffered flu-like
symptoms and ultimately seizures after getting the vaccine three times at
Madigan Army Medical Center. Last week, Magistrate Judge Theresa Fricke signed
a recommendation to dismiss the lawsuit against the U.S. government.

Watching
TV? It's Watching You Back. |
|
TVs have
joined the ranks of websites, apps and credit cards in the lucrative business
of harvesting and sharing your information. Americans spend an average of 3
1/2 hours in front of a TV each day, according to eMarketer. Data firms use
your TV history to link up what you watch with what you do on your phone,
tablet and laptop - even what you buy in stores. It's like your TV can unhook
itself from the wall and follow you around.

ACLU
Report Says ICE Neglect Led to Deaths of Two at Colorado Facility |
|
The
American Civil Liberties Union says neglect at an Immigration and Customs
Enforcement facility in Aurora, Colorado, led to the deaths of two people. The
ACLU issued a report accusing ICE of violating "basic human rights" through
inadequate health care practices and not providing accommodations for
detainees with disabilities. The union has filed a lawsuit over the death of
one of the individuals, a 64-year-old man who died of cardiac arrest after
being held at the ICE facility two years ago. The lawsuit is still pending.
