2009 alone, state lawmakers from both sides of the aisle have tried at least

Driver Sued Over Attack on Musician |
|
A man has
filed suit against Lyft alleging his music career was ended when a Lyft driver
beat him in New York City. The plaintiff alleges he suffered broken bones, two
concussions, and a traumatic brain injury when the Lyft driver attacked him
after he canceled a ride. Due to injuries sustained in the attack, the
composer and musician's career came to an end, alleges the complaint. Named as
defendants in the lawsuit, which seeks punitive damages, court costs, attorney
fees, and other relief, are Lyft and the driver.

Agrees To Pay Ohio Counties $20M |
|
Johnson &
Johnson and two Ohio counties have reached a tentative $20.4 million
settlement that removes the corporation from the first federal lawsuit against
opioid manufacturers, scheduled to begin later this month. In a statement
released Tuesday, the health care giant said the agreement with Cleveland's
Cuyahoga and Akron's Summit counties allows it "to avoid the resource demands
and uncertainty of a trial." However, the terms stipulate that Johnson &
Johnson makes "no admission of liability."
