O'Flaherty:â?˜Admin'
As Password At Time Of 2017 Equifax Breach |
|
The
Equifax 2017 breach happened because the firm failed to patch a web server,
which is itself a very basic error. But now a class action lawsuit shows that
things were allegedly even worse. According to the filing in the U.S. District
Court for the Northern District of Georgia, Atlanta Division, Equifax was
protecting sensitive personal information on a portal used to manage credit
disputes with the username 'admin' and also points out that Equifax was
storing unencrypted user data on a public facing server.

|
A New
York family whose infant son died in a infant sleeper has filed suit against
Fisher-Price and its parent company Mattel. The lawsuit alleges the Rock 'n
Play Sleeper the child was napping in when he died was not made for sleeping
infants. Almost 5 million of the sleepers were recalled in April after they
were linked to the deaths of 10 babies nationwide. Fisher-Price was named in
two class action lawsuits linking the company's sleeper to the deaths of 32
babies.
