$72M Verdict Against J&J in Talc Products Suit is Reversed |

Johnson & Johnson has been handed the reversal of a $72 million verdict in favor of a woman who filed suit against the company alleging that its talc products caused her ovarian cancer. According to the Missouri Court of Appeals for the Eastern District, the case should not have filed in St. Louis. The decision was based on a recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling that limited where injury lawsuits could be filed.

Father of Las Vegas Shooting Victim Sues Hotel |

The father of a woman who was killed in the recent mass shooting in Las Vegas has filed suit against MGM Resorts, Hollywood-based promoter Live Nation Group, and the estate of the shooter. The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, alleges negligence, battery, wrongful death, and other causes of action. According to the lawsuit, the woman warned her friends when she heard gunshots, but was shot in the head as "gunfire continued to rain down during this time." The 28-year-old woman was one of 58 victims of the violent attack.

Remington Moves for Lawsuit Dismissal, Blames Father for Child's Death |

Remingto= n has filed a motion for the dismissal of an accidental shooting lawsuit, stating that the blame for the incident which killed a young girl rested with the father. The child was fatally shot when a gun in the truck her father was driving misfired and struck her in the jaw. Her family filed a $5 million lawsuit against Remington, which had posted a voluntary recall of the gun on its website. As stated in the recall, "Remington has determined that some Model 700 and Model Seven rifles with XMP triggers could, under certain circumstances, unintentionally discharge."
