Houston Texans Player Files Injury Lawsuit Over Turf

A former linebacker with the Houston Texans and Philadelphia Eagles has filed a lawsuit against the Texans alleging that uneven playing field at NRG stadium caused his injury. According to the lawsuit, failure by the defendants to properly take care of the turf caused his career-ending injury in 2014. The lawsuit names as defendants the team, Harris County Convention & Sports Corp. and its management arm, the NFL, and the company that furnished the surface.

$478K Awarded to Florida Woman in Bus Injury Lawsuit

A Florida woman has been awarded $478,000 in an injury lawsuit over a bus fall. The woman filed suit against Palm Beach County after she fell on the bus when the driver accelerated before she had a chance to sit down. According to the lawsuit, bus drivers across the county should wait until passengers are prepared before taking off. The woman alleges that she suffered a back injury and a cut to her knee when she slipped on the floor of the bus, which was wet from rain.

Ohio Father Files Suit Over Daughter's Tree Death

The father of an Ohio woman who was killed when a tree fell on her in a city park has filed a wrongful death lawsuit. The 21-year-old college student from Perry died of injuries sustained when the tree fell on her in September 2014. The woman's father filed suit against the city of Massillon for recklessness and negligence related to the death. The lawsuit seeks at least $25,000 in damages.
