| A lawsuit filed against a former Delaware pediatrician who sexually abused his young patients has been settled by a Dover hospital. Netflix Settles Closed Captioning Lawsuit |
| Netflix Inc. has agreed to settle a lawsuit over the lack of closed captioning on all their streamed movies and television shows. According to the settlement, Netflix will have captions on all their videos within the next two years. Georgia Officer Accused in Wrongful Death Suit |
| A wrongful death lawsuit has been filed against a Union City, Ga., police officer who shot and killed a 19-year-old man at point-blank range. The suit claims officers responded to a call of reported teenage fighting in December 2011 when one officer spotted the victim walking away from the scene; according to the suit, the officer ordered the teen to lay down, and as he was handcuffing him, he shot the boy twice in the back. The FBI and U.S. Attorney Sally Yates have both opened criminal investigations into the actions of the officer, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Marcus K. Suit: VTech President Accountable in Shooting |
| The parents of two Virginia Tech students who were killed in the 2007 campus massacre are asking the state's Supreme Court to allow a lawsuit against the university president. The parents claim the president should be held accountable for "failing to [quickly] alert students and faculty of the first shootings on campus." The president and other university officials were initially dismissed from a wrongful death lawsuit that resulted in a $4 million award against the state of Virginia.
