The Metro Police of Las Vegas have offered the widow of a Gulf War veteran who was shot and killed by police in 2011 a $1.5 million settlement. The plaintiff filed a lawsuit in Nevada's U.S. District Court in December 2012, about a year after her husband was mistakenly shot and killed by police. Officers were responding to reports of an attempted burglary when one of them thought the war vet was firing at them and shot him with a rifle seven times. It is uncertain whether or not the plaintiff will accept the $1.5 million settlement.
