School District Settles Lawsuit Over Students' Hypnotizing Deaths | | A school district in Florida will pay $200,000 to each of the families of three students who died after being hypnotized by a school principal. According to report by the Herald-Tribune, the North Port High School principal has hypnotized as many as 75 students during his career. Two of the students who died committed suicide shortly after being hypnotized by the principal. The other student died in a car crash after self-hypnotizing, which the principal had allegedly taught him to do. The jury found DuPont responsible for negligence and infliction of emotional distress, and awarded $1.6 million in damages. The jury also found that DuPont didnâ??t act with actual malice in the way it handled C-8. The suit involves the use of Eagle 20 a fungicide used to kill mites, mildew and assorted pests that flock to plants like hops and grapes. It also contains a chemical called myclobutanil, which produces hydrogen cyanide gas when burned. Dallas leaders discussed the move during a closed executive session. Two city leaders who were involved in the talk said council members gave attorneys permission to go after the German automaker. It wasnâ??t until September 2015 that Volkswagen disclosed at a meeting with regulators that software in certain diesel vehicles contained a so-called defeat device, which effectively lowered emissions for testing purposes.
