Sixel: Fewer Texans Died on the Job Last Year

spacer image

The number of Texans who died in work-related injuries last year fell to its lowest level since 2004, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. "It doesn't surprise me that it's down," said Stan Marek, CEO of the Marek Family of Companies, a Houston based commercial construction firm. Marek estimates that the amount of commercial construction is down 50 to 60 percent from just a couple of years ago. Residential building may be down even more, he said.  L.M.
