Veteran Awarded $8M in Medical Negligence Suit | | A U.S. Army veteran from St. Louis has been awarded over $8 million in a medical negligence lawsuit he filed after he lost a leg and suffered a brain injury during a routine surgery. The plaintiff had a cardiac stent inserted at the John Cochran VA Medical Center in February 2009. Due to the doctors using infected tissue to repair the damage, an infection developed in his leg, which had to be amputated. Lawsuit Filed After Shoplifter Stripped and Beaten | | A Bronx man has filed a lawsuit after a video of him being beaten by several 7-Eleven employees went viral last year. The employees thought the plaintiff had stolen a Snickers bar from the convenient store and proceeded to beat him and strip him down to find the candy. The incident was recorded by a bystander, and the video went viral. The plaintiff claims "the internet frenzy has exacerbated his mental stress and well-being."
