Wrongful Death

Pennsylvania Court Releases Nationwide Insurance from Home Shooting Lawsuit
spacer image
A Pennsylvania Superior Court panel has ruled that Nationwide Insurance has no obligation to cover a woman being sued over a murder that took place in her home. The lawsuit was filed by the family of a 41-year-old man who was shot during an argument at the defendant's home. She is accused of failing to prevent the shooter, the victim's stepson, from accessing the gun used in the shooting. The decision overturns a Philadelphia County judge's ruling and frees Nationwide Insurance from the wrongful death lawsuit.
