Post-Antibiotic Era is Here |
|
According
to a new Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report which analyzes
electronic health records and other data, shows an infection every 11 seconds
and a death every 15 minutes on average from bugs that resist treatment from
antibiotics. The CDC said there are nearly twice as many deaths from
antibiotic-resistant infections compared to the agency's 2013 report, which

California Educators Charged in Autistic Boy's Death |
|
Three
California educators have been charged with manslaughter in the death of an
autistic boy who was restrained at school. The 13-year-old student of Guiding
Hands School in El Dorado Hills died after being placed in a facedown
restraint by school staff in November 2018. According to the California Board
of Education, the child was held down for an hour and 45 minutes. His family
filed suit against the school, which was closed in January. The school's
former executive director, former principal and a teacher have each been
charged with a felony count of involuntary manslaughter in connection with the
boy's death.
