L.A. County to Pay $1.3M Over Doctor Who Molested Patients

Los Angeles County supervisors agreed Tuesday to pay $1.3 million to settle a lawsuit brought by a patient who alleged she was groped and sexually harassed by a doctor at a county clinic. The doctor, Steve Leong, worked at the Claude Hudson Comprehensive Health Center in South L.A. He was arrested in 2013 and charged with sexually assaulting multiple female patients in an examination room at the clinic.

UC Hospital Not Liable for Syphilis Facebook Post

University of Cincinnati Medical Center can't be sued after an employee leaked private medical records about a patient who had syphilis, a judge ruled Monday. The patient, a woman in her early 20s, filed the lawsuit last year. A screen shot of the woman's private medical records from the hospital was posted on the Facebook group. The records listed the woman's diagnosis as 'maternal syphilis.' She was pregnant at the time.
