Eagle Ford Shale Well Blowout Results in Thousands of Acres Sealed Off
Thousands of acres of land remain sealed off days after a blowout at a natural gas well located belonging to Devon Energy between the Eagle Ford Shale towns of Yorktown and Nordheim. A federal judge will let a gun violence and civil rights lawsuit against the State of Illinois will move forward. U.S. District Court Judge Joan B. Gottschall will allow the lawsuit, filed by three state residents, to proceed rather than first be reviewed by an appellate court. The plaintiff alleges the state and its officials have failed to protect African American children from trauma caused by pervasive gun violence in black communities. The lawsuit was filed in October 2018 against Illinois, the governor, and the State Police.

The company's willingness to let financial services advertisers 'target' prospective customers by age and gender violates California's Constitution, alleges the lawsuit.
