Lawsuit Filed Over Fatal Truck Collision |
A lawsuit has been filed over the death of four people in a auto collision that took place when a truck driver crashed into a family stranded on the side of the road. The family's car had broken down, leaving the mother and her three children on the side of the road. The lawsuit was filed by the woman's husband, who was on the phone with her at the time of the collision. The lawsuit alleges that the truck driver was speeding and distracted when he crashed into the family. The mother and three children, ages 6, 17 and 18 were killed in the incident. $4M Awarded Against Oil Services Company in Gregg County |
William and Heather Crist won a finding of gross negligence in a $4 million jury verdict against an oil field service company and its driver (Horizon Cable Service)in a November 2011 wreck on Interstate 20 in Gregg County. Employee Who Blew Whistle on Research Program Settles With VA |
A VA employee who alerted officials to financial waste, research failures and falsification of records at the agency's Waco Center of Excellence for Research on Returning War Veterans reached a settlement on a whistleblower retaliation claim against the VA, according to the U.S. Office of Special Counsel. The settlement agreement's details are confidential, but the Office of Special Counsel said the VA agreed to provide compensatory damages, adjust Tharp's pay level and take other actions to make him whole.
