United Airlines could be facing a lawsuit by a family whose dog was killed on a flight from Houston to New York. According to the family, airline staff instructed them to place their dog in an overhead bin, despite the fact that they had an appropriate dog carrier. During the flight, they were prevented from checking on the dog due to turbulence, says the family. Following the dog's death on the flight, a necropsy revealed the cause of death to be suffocation. A lawsuit over the incident has been drafted, but has not yet been filed.

Autopsy reports released in the deaths of three individuals who were killed after a helicopter crashed in the Grand Canyon have revealed that the people survived the initial impact, but died when the helicopter exploded. Mohave County Medical Examiner A.L. Mosley reported that the individuals inhaled fatal amounts of smoke and carbon monoxide and were burned across their entire bodies. The bodies were burned beyond recognition. A lawsuit has been filed by the family of one of the crash victims against Papillon and Airbus alleging they failed to install crash-resistant fuel systems in its tour helicopters.
