One of the new lawsuits was filed by a shift editor for Fox News Radio and alleges a "sexually hostile work environment." The executive director of the Upper Colorado River Authority has filed a lawsuit against the Austin bar where he was physically attacked by a bouncer. The San Angelo man alleges in the lawsuit that he had to undergo emergency brain surgery after a bouncer at the Chuggin' Monkey struck him outside the bar. The plaintiff was being kicked out of the bar for being too drunk when the bouncer hit him, causing the plaintiff's head to hit the pavement. Part of his skull was removed and he was placed in a medically induced coma following the incident and remains on extended medical leave from his job. The lawsuit was filed Monday in Travis County state district court. According to court records, the 23-year-old bouncer was charged with aggravated assault, a second-degree felony.

An African-American man who worked as a cashier at Atkinson Toyota in southern Dallas filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against the dealership alleging that he experienced a racially hostile work environment. Robert Stewart, 51, claims a supervisor repeatedly called him racial slurs during the year or so in which Stewart was employed. Stewart filed a federal lawsuit this month after he said supervisors went months without addressing it. 'I went to the chain of command. I even told people I work with. I said 'I can't believe this man is calling me this stuff,'" said Stewart.

The family of a 10-year-old boy from Austin who was killed when a security gate crushed him have filed a lawsuit. The parents of the young boy have filed suit against the manufacturer of the gate and the owner of the home where the boy was killed. A medical examiner determined that the boy died of asphyxiation when he went into a gap between the gate and a stone wall where metal mesh had been removed and the gate was activated. He was transported to the hospital after the incident and died five days later. The plaintiffs are asking a jury for damages in excess of $1 million.
