Planned Parenthood Sued Over Colorado Springs Shooting |
Planned Parenthood is facing a lawsuit by the victims of the shooting at its Colorado Springs facility who say that the shooting was "both predictable and preventable." The victims filed suit in Denver District Court on Friday alleging that Planned Parenthood should have expected an attack after the long history of violent acts and threats at their clinics. The incident took place on November 27 when a male shooter opened fire in the parking lot of the clinic. Three people were killed and nine others were transported to a hospital with gunshot wounds. N.C. Appellate Court Rejects Lawsuit by Worker Who Lost Lungs in Explosion |
A North Carolina court of appeals has rejected a lawsuit filed by a man who lost his lungs in an ammonia leak at his workplace. The appellate court ruled in favor of the poultry plant on Tuesday stating that the mechanic will be confined to using the Workers' Compensation Act. The explosion took place in June 2009 and caused the death of another employee. The plaintiff was in a coma for months and had to undergo a double lung transplant.
