The lawsuit alleges that the magazine defamed the university and the dean with its feature for Rolling Stone, A Rape on Campus. The feature alleged that a female student had been gang-raped by fraternity members and that the school did little to assist the student. Rolling Stone retracted the article after its credibility was debunked by several media reports. The lawsuit names Rolling Stone and reporter Sabrina Rubin Erdely as defendants and seeks $7.85 million in damages. The lawsuit, filed by female employees of the automaker, alleges that the company failed to address rampant sexual harassment at two facilities in Chicago. The amended complaint was filed in U.S. District Court in Chicago and contends that the sexual harassment is pervasive at both facilities, and not just the plant on the South Side, as the original filing stated. The lawsuit was filed by the parents of a 4-month-old boy who died of head injuries sustained while in the care of the babysitter. The lawsuit alleges that Care.com does not conduct adequate background checks and that the woman had a previous drunk driving conviction.
