Texas Police Officer Sued Over Unconstitutional Search |

A lawsuit alleges that a Texas police officer performed an unlawful vaginal search of a woman on the side of the road. The plaintiff's vaginal cavity was searched by a San Antonio police officer along the shoulder of a public street in 2016, says the lawsuit filed in federal court on Friday. As stated in the complaint, the female officer conducted the search looking for illegal drugs. After being searched no illegal drugs were found and the woman was allowed to drive away. The lawsuit alleges a violation of the plaintiff's constitutional rights.

Jacob Moore, First Male Accuser of Gymnast Doctor Larry Nassar |

The first male gymnast has come forward accusing USA Gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar of sexual abuse. Jacob Moore, a freshman gymnast at the University of Michigan has become the first male to publicly accuse the former gymnastics doctor of sexual abuse. Moore's sister, a former Junior US National Team member, previously claimed that she was a victim of sexual abuse by Nassar. "I was inspired by my sister and everyone else in this community to kind of come out and help bring change to what allowed this to happen," stated Jacob Moore in a press conference on Monday.

Judge says Private Insurer, Not State, Liable for $43M in Libby Asbestos Claims |

A state judge says a Nebraska-based private insurer is liable for an entire $43 million state settlement of 100 asbestos claims related to Libby’s defunct vermiculite mine – and the full cost to the company is likely more. State District Judge Holly Brown of Bozeman ruled last last week that National Indemnity Co. – a subsidiary of Warren Buffet’s Berkshire Hathaway firm – improperly tried to deny coverage from an insurance policy held by the state 45 years ago.

Hospitals Can’t Arbitrate Lien Suit, Texas Court Says |

A pair of medical service and insurance providers on Friday lost their Texas state appeals court bid to compel arbitration of a lawsuit brought by a patient who alleged the health care companies applied a fraudulent lien after she was treated following a car accident. A lower Texas state court had previously denied Cardon Healthcare Network and Seton Medical Center’s motion to compel arbitration of the fraudulent lien lawsuit Susan Goldberg filed in 2011.
