A Virginia woman has filed a lawsuit against a funeral home in Chesapeake after her late husband's body was replaced with another at his funeral. The suit claims the woman paid more than $6,500 to have her husband prepared for the open-casket ceremony, but the funeral home placed the wrong body in the man's clothes and into his casket. The woman says she experiences "nightmares, panic attacks and flashbacks of seeing another man in her husband’s casket and clothing."

Police Searches of Cell Phones Questioned in Suit

A lawsuit has been filed against the San Francisco Police Department over the searching of a protester's text messages after he was arrested. In January 2011, the state Supreme Court ruled that police did not need a warrant to search the cell phone of the arrested man; however, the lawsuit claims the ruling relied only on federal cases, and that the practice in California violates privacy rights laid out in the state Constitution. The suit claims police kept the plaintiff's phone for months despite not needing it for any investigation.
