A preliminary congressional report Friday said Boeingâ??s development of the 737 MAX â??was marred by technical design failures, lack of transparency with both regulators and customers, and efforts to obfuscate information about the operation of the aircraft.â?? It also sharply criticized the FAA, calling its review of the MAX â??grossly insufficientâ?? and charging that the regulatory agency â??failed in its duty to identify key safety problems and to ensure that they were adequately addressed during the certification process.â??

Georgia School District Facing Lawsuit Over Disabled Child's Abuse on Bus |

A lawsuit filed last week alleges a disabled girl from Georgia was sexually abused for several consecutive days and raped by students on her school bus. The lawsuit was filed by the girl and her family against the Fulton County School District in Georgia on March 3. According to the complaint, the district, which had removed a secondary monitor for the school buses due to budgetary reasons, failed to protect the child and discriminated against her.

Woman With MS Sues After Being Fired for Using CBD Oil |

A woman from San Antonio, Texas, has filed a lawsuit after being fired from her job for using CBD oil. The drug counselor began taking CBD oil to ease the pain of her multiple sclerosis last year. However, after failing a drug test at work, she was fired. The lawsuit alleges Management & Training Corp. failed to provide a "reasonable accommodation" in violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

A worn, century-old hook broke and helped spark Californiaâ??s deadliest wildfire; the utilityâ??s care of such parts is key in a criminal probe. A 3-inch hook purchased for 56 cents around the end of World War I could help determine whether PG&E Corp. faces criminal charges for starting the deadliest wildfire in California history. Whether PG&E was negligent in inspecting and replacing these hooks has emerged as a key factor in a continuing California investigation that could determine whether the company and some of its former executives face criminal charges for their role in wildfires.

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas has agreed to repay consumers after state regulators found the health insurance company was mishandling out-of-network emergency claims and providing incorrect information. â??Consumers who had higher out-of-pocket costs due to the errors will get refunds,â?? Texas Insurance Commissioner Kent Sullivan said in a statement Friday. â??Ensuring the fair treatment of consumers and clear, timely consumer information are priorities for TDI.â?? The Texas Department of Insurance also announced the health insurance company will pay a $10 million fine.
