Yorktown Doctor Accused of Sexual Harassment

A doctor in Yorktown, Ny., has been named in a sexual harassment lawsuit filed by a former coworker, accusing her of "making a series of sexual advances toward [the plaintiff]." After complaining to clinic owners, the plaintiff claims the doctor acted like a jilted lover and became violent, smashing pictures around the office. The lawsuit is seeking unspecified damages.

Another Suit Filed Against Lance Armstrong

An insurance company in Nebraska has filed a $3 million lawsuit against disgraced cyclist Lance Armstrong, accusing the former Tour de France winner of fraud. The company, which sponsored Armstrong, claims to have paid him bonuses in 1999, 2000 and 2001 after he won the Tour de France. The company is now seeking restitution for those payments after Armstrong admitted to using performance enhancing drugs. The suit accuses Armstrong of fraud, unjust enrichment and breach of contract.

Vet Claiming Navy Doc Operated Without Consent Gets SCOTUS Win

The United States has no immunity from a veteran's lawsuit claiming a Navy doctor performed cataract surgery without consent, the U.S. Supreme Court has ruled. Steven Alan Levin alleges he became concerned about the operating room equipment and withdrew consent just before the 2003 surgery at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Guam. The U.S. Supreme Court said on Monday that the suit is allowed under the federal Gonzalez Act, which governs suits for medical malpractice by medical personnel of the armed forces.

Porsche Recalls 2,200 Carrera Vehicles

Porsche AG has issued a recall of more than 2,200 911 Carrera sports cars, model years 2012 and 2013, due to faulty exhaust pipes. The company said it discovered during testing that the car's exhaust pipes could crack and fall off on a vehicle with more than 25,000 miles. There have been no injuries reported associated with the recall.

Toledo Hosptial Settles Malpractice Lawsuit

The University of Toledo Medical Center will pay just under $500,000 to a local man after doctors failed to diagnose bleeding in his brain that led to a stroke. In his suit, the man says hospital officials failed to properly monitor his condition and didn't report or follow up on the results of his CT scan. As a result of the stroke, the plaintiff is "permanently and partially disabled."
