Boy Scouts of America Faces Sexual Abuse Lawsuit in Arkansas

An Arkansas chapter of the Boy Scouts of America is facing a lawsuit alleging sexual abuse and negligence. The lawsuit was filed by a man who alleges he was sexually abused as a young Boy Scout back in 1979 and 1980. The complaint was filed Wednesday in Pulaski County Circuit Court and names the Boy Scouts of America as defendant. The scout leader accused of abusing the plaintiff has not been listed as a defendant in the suit.

Lawsuit: Parents of Plano Shooting Victims Say Bar is Partly to Blame

Families of some of the eight victims of a massacre at a Plano home last year say the bar (Local Public House) and bartender who served the shooter before his rampage are partly responsible for the deaths. A lawsuit, filed Thursday on behalf of the parents of Darryl William Hawkins, Caleb Seth Edwards and James Richard Dunlop, accuses the bar and bartender Lindsey Glass of being negligent in serving Hight, who is said to have been visibly intoxicated and waving around a knife while making alarming remarks.

The recall is related to a federal investigation into air bag failures in Kia and partner Hyundai vehicles that were linked to four deaths. Vehicles covered by the recall include 2010 through 2013 Forte compact cars and 2011 through 2013 Optima midsize cars. Also covered are Optima Hybrid and Sedona minivans from 2011 and 2012.

Minnesota Child's Hanging Death Lawsuit Settled for $1.5 Million

The family of a young girl who died while in foster care in Minnesota has settled a lawsuit over her death. According to the lawsuit and an investigation into her case, the 6-year-old girl frequently talked about harming herself in the months leading up to her death. The lawsuit alleged her death was a result of failures throughout the county child protection system intended to protect her. The suit was settled for $1.5 million, one of the highest settlements against a governmental entity in Minnesota.
