County in Texas is Latest to File Opioid Lawsuit Against Big Pharma |

Williamson
County, Texas, has filed a lawsuit against the major manufacturers,
distributors, and retailers of pharmaceutical opioids. The lawsuit was filed
June 14 in the District Court of Williamson County and alleges negligence and
fraudulent marketing has led to harm, death and a loss of money by the county.
The plaintiffs say they have spent and continue to spend â??large sums combating
the public health crisisâ?? caused by Purdue Pharma, Teva Pharmaceutical
Industries, Johnson & Johnson, Endo Health Solutions and others.

Pushes to Settle 737 MAX Crash Claims |

Boeing is
negotiating settlements with the families of dozens of victims of two crashes
involving 737 MAX jetliners, while some plaintiffsâ?? attorneys push for a jury
trial to air details of the accidents. The talks were disclosed during two
court hearings in Chicago on Thursday addressing more than 100 lawsuits filed
against the aerospace giant by families following the crashes of a Lion Air
jet last October and an Ethiopian Airlines plane in March.

Hospital violated key federal patient care and safety requirements in a case
that culminated in death, according to a new report, the third such event in
recent months to result in the sanctioning of a Texas Medical Center hospital.
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services notified the Harris Health
System of the deficiencies and moved to place it under state and federal
authority in a letter and report the system received Wednesday. The action
applies to all components of Harris Health, the public safety-net hospital
network that operates Ben Taub.

Recalls 71,000 Inclined Infant Sleepers |
|
Fisher-Price
has recalled 71,000 inclined sleeper accessories because infants can roll from
their backs to their stomachs on inclined sleep products, risking injury or
death. A government consumer protection agency said that consumers should
immediately stop using the inclined sleeper and contact Fisher-Price for a
refund or voucher.

Crash Lawsuit Filed in Missouri Blames Teen Driver and Honda |
|
A lawsuit
was filed in Missouri against a teenage driver involved in a fatal car
accident. The lawsuit was filed in Franklin County Circuit Court and alleges
the teen driver and the maker of the car, Honda, are responsible for the death
of another teen. The 18-year-old man was killed when he was hit head-on by the
16-year-old girl. The lawsuit alleges the Honda Pilot was defective and
unreasonably dangerous due to a number of failures, including the assembly of
the driver's seat. The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages from the driver and
from Honda.
