Court Allows Federal Workers' Data Breach Lawsuit Against OPM |
|
The D.C.
Circuit Court of Appeals will allow a data breach lawsuit filed by two groups
of federal workers against the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) to go
forward. The appeals court ruled that the 2015 data breach left the plaintiffs
vulnerable to identity theft, a substantial and ongoing "injury," and that the
breach was due to OPM's failure to adequately safeguard its systems. The data
breach exposed the personal information of 22 million people.

Boeing
Faces Lawsuit for 'Unprecedented Cover-up' |
|
Boeing is
facing a class-action lawsuit from more than 400 pilots who say the company
covered up design flaws in its 737 Max planes. The Australian Broadcasting
Company reported that the lawsuit alleged that Boeing engaged in and
"unprecedented cover-up" of the "known design flaws" in the 737 Max planes.
The case is set to be heard by a court in Chicago on October 21, according to
ABC. The lawsuit's original plaintiff, identified only as "pilot X" due to the
plaintiff's fears of reprisal from Boeing officials and customers, filed the
