Appeals Court Rejects Lawsuit Over Surgery Complications |
A federal appeals court recently rejected a lawsuit by a man who alleges the Cleveland Clinic is responsible for complications after surgery for his prostate cancer. According to the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, the retired Air Force colonel has no legal standing to file the lawsuit placing the blame for his complications on the clinic and its staff. The court's opinion states that the plaintiff does not possess "direct and independent knowledge of the information upon which his fraud allegations are based." The plaintiff has filed multiple complaints over the incident against the clinic, his surgeon and several others. Eric Heisig, Cleveland.com 06/17/2015 |
