Ashley Luce says she and her children were threatened with menacing letters and break-ins at their home is accusing the Pedernales Electric Cooperative of irresponsibly turning over personal information about her to a man who falsely claimed to be her husband, according to a lawsuit filed this month in Williamson County.

Dallas Home Health Care Company Owner Gets 17 Years in Prison for Massive Fraud |

Wilbert James Veasey Jr., the owner of Apple of Your Eye Healthcare Services Inc., was part of a nearly $400 million home health care scam was sentenced Tuesday to 17 and a half years in federal prison, the U.S. attorney's office said. In April 2016, a jury found Veasey guilty of playing a role in the massive home health care fraud conspiracy led by Dr. Jacques Roy, 59, of Rockwall.

Witness In $25M Med Device Trial Gets 15 Months For Lying |

A witness who later admitted he'd lied under oath as part of a $25 million trade secrets trial against a medical device manufacturer in the Eastern District of Texas was sentenced Tuesday to 15 months in federal prison for perjury. David Hernon, 56, pled guilty in December 2015 to making false declarations before the court, related to testimony he and former business partner Albert Davis gave during a trial between their company, LBDS Holding Co. LLC, and ISOL Technology Inc.

North Texas Patients Blame Eye Drops for Lost Vision |

The number of alleged victims and impacted eye centers have grown two months after the first reports of an incorrectly mixed medicine used in some cataract surgeries have left some patients without vision. About 35 North Texans have hired attorneys, claiming they likely permanently lost eyesight due to an incorrectly mixed solution used in a routine procedure. At the end of April, Key-Whitman Eye Center announced several patients had worse vision after receiving a common medication following their cataract surgery. The common medication was mixed at a local compounding pharmacy. Dr. Jeffery Whitman identified the pharmacy as Guardian Pharmacy Services. The surgeries happened between Jan. 31 and Feb. 21, 2017.

Texas Man Injured on Louisiana Barge Files Suit |

An injury lawsuit has been filed by a Texas man against two Houma, Louisiana companies that owned the barge where he was injured. The lawsuit was filed June 5 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Cross Group Inc. and Cross Barge Services LTD. The plaintiff alleges that he was injured while lifting and fitting a heavy pipe without assistance on May 24. The companies, he alleges, denied him help with the job due to the fact that they were shorthanded. The complaint states that the plaintiff suffered injuries or conditions to his neck, cervical spine and right shoulder and had to undergo cervical fusion and right shoulder rotator cuff repair surgery.

Lawsuit Over Death of Autistic Teen on California Bus Settled for $23.5M |

The California family of an autistic boy who died after being left alone on a bus for hours has settled their lawsuit over his death. The family has agreed to settle the lawsuit against the bus agency over the 19-year-old's death for $23.5 million. The non-verbal student was found on the floor of a Whittier bus on Sept. 11, 2015, and was pronounced dead. The lawsuit was originally filed against Pupil Transportation Cooperative and the Whittier Union High School District, but the school district was dropped as a defendant when it became clear "the evidence was overwhelmingly against the bus company."
