Clemson Fraternity Denies Wrongful Death Lawsuit Claims |
The Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity has responded to a wrongful death lawsuit by alleging that a Clemson student's death was caused by "voluntarily jumping into the water" off a bridge in South Carolina. The lawsuit was filed against the fraternity by the parents of the boy who was found dead in the water. The lawsuit alleges that the young man got into an argument with another fraternity member after he failed to bring breakfast for the group. The lawsuit alleges that the student went over the bridge during the confrontation. The plaintiffs are seeking $25 million in compensation and have filed an identical, but separate, personal injury lawsuit. Ron Barnett, Greenville News 06/12/2015 |
