San Antonio Nursing Facility Hit With Lawsuit After Resident's COVID-19 Death
 
The coronavirus death of a resident at San Antonio's Southeast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center has sparked a lawsuit against the facility. Themale resident was diagnosed with COVID-19 on March 26 and died three weekslater. His two adult chilredn have filed a lawsuit against the facilityalleging wrongful death. Up to an hour before their father's death, theplaintiffs were assured their father was doing fine and showed no symptoms ofthe disease, states their lawsuit.

Coronavirus Deaths in U.S. Nursing, Long-Term-Care Facilities Top 50,000

AWall Street Journal tally of counts from around the U.S. also shows more than 250,000 novel coronavirus infection cases among residents and staffersat long-term-care facilities, along with 50,919 deaths. Measured againstthe overall count of more than 116,000 Covid-19 deaths in the U.S., compiledby Johns Hopkins University, buildings meant to house and care for seniorsare linked to more than 40% of pandemics deaths in the U.S. thusfar.
