Judge: Baylor Must Turn Over Pepper Hamilton Documents

A federal magistrate judge Tuesday issued an order that requires Baylor University to provide documents prepared by the Philadelphia law firm Pepper Hamilton to attorneys for 15 women who are suing Baylor for alleged Title IX violations. Magistrate Judge Andrew W. Austin, who is overseeing the case filed in an Austin federal court, gave Baylor until July 15 to turn over documents to attorneys for the women and to designate documents it believes are not subject to evidence discovery in the lawsuit.

Proposed Class Action Filed by Cruise Passengers Over COVID-19 Outbreak

Cruise passengers have filed a proposed class action lawsuit alleging the Princess and Carnival cruise lines knowingly allowed COVID-19 to spread among passengers. Over 60 former passengers have joined the lawsuit, which alleges gross negligence in the handling of passenger health and safety during a February cruise. According to their lawsuit, the defendants failed to take proper sanitizing precautions and failed to properly screen passengers before boarding.

Google Collected User Information Even in Private Mode, Alleges $5 Billion Lawsuit

Google has been hit with a proposed class action lawsuit over the ways they track users. The tech giant is accused in the complaint of invading the privacy of millions of users by tracking their internet use through browsers set in "private" mode. Plaintiffs seek at least $5 billion and accuse Alphabet Inc of collecting the browsing information of users who used what they believed were private browsers. The lawsuit was filed in federal court in San Jose, California.
