Reveal identified at least 300 drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities in 44 states that required participants to work long hours without pay, in likely violation of labor law. Some work for rehab-run businesses; others for outside companies such as Walmart, Exxon and Shell. The participants receive room and board and in some cases a small stipend or allowance typically amounting to less than $20 per week â?? well below the minimum wage.

Bayer AG is delaying part of a proposed settlement regarding cancer claims over its weedkiller Roundup. A U.S. judge has recently questioned the company's plan to deal with future claims. The German-based company is seeking to end a number of lawsuits it inherited when it took over Monsanto in 2018. Bayer is expected to eventually spend close to $11 billion to settle nearly 100,000 lawsuits related to Roundup. â??Bayer remains strongly committed to a resolution that simultaneously addresses both the current litigation on reasonable terms and a viable solution to manage and resolve potential future litigation," noted a statement from the company.

COVID-19 data on Medicareâ??s nursing home site is incomplete. Some facilities that have had coronavirus cases and deaths turn up as having none on Medicareâ??s COVID-19 nursing home website.
