More than 60 percent of those surveyed by Burford have had clients whose judgments or awards were frustrated by assets hidden in offshore jurisdictions -- with Russia and the former Soviet Union being cited as particular problem areas. The lawsuit was filed on behalf of the restaurant's bartenders, servers and bussers who were charged a few dollars each shift to offset the cost of broken dishes. The lawsuit filed against Hyman Seafood Co. of Charleston alleges that it is illegal to extract business costs from employee wages. There are 160 current and former restaurant employees included in teh lawsuit. The jury selection is set next month in the case. The lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in Chicago on behalf of the 68-year-old lesbian resident alleges that staff at the senior facility in Niles failed to protect the plaintiff from harassment. The complaint states that the plaintiff was subjected to "persistent verbal harassment, threats, intimidation and three separate assaults, at the hands of other residents," in addition to being physically injured by other residents. The plaintiff moved into the senior living facility after her partner of 30 years died. Lee V. The veterans, led by Michael Sabo, met all the necessary terms of the Equal Access to Justice Act, or EAJA, with the government having misapplied relevant laws and thus having failed to adequately justify its position both within and prior to the case. The pop star and four of her staffers were killed in the plane crash after the plane fell 28,000 feet. The families of the victims have alleged that the owner of the aircraft failed to properly maintain the plane and train the crew. The judge granted the award to the families of the crash victims after the owners of the aircraft abandoned their defense and ceased representing themselves in court.
