$19 Million Settlement Reached in Harvey Weinstein Lawsuit |

A $19 million settlement has been reached in a lawsuit filed by nine women against movie mogul Harvey Weinstein, who is accused of harassing and abusing women. The settlement will create a victimsâ?? fund for women who say they were abused by Weinstein. The November 2017 lawsuit also accuses former officers and directors of The Weinstein Company of failing to prevent his misconduct. The settlement is awaiting approval in federal district court in New York City.

Lawsuit: Cisco Allowed Discrimination Against Indian Employee Based on His Caste |

Regulators in California have filed a lawsuit against Cisco accusing the company of discriminating against an Indian-American employee based on his caste. As the lawsuit alleges, Cisco allowed the plaintiff to be harassed by two managers because he was from a lower Indian caste than them. While U.S. employment law does not specifically bar caste-based discrimination, California's Department of Fair Employment and Housing alleges the Hindu faith's lingering caste system is based on protected classes such as religion.

Las Vegas Casinos Workers Suing Over Covid-19 Safety |

Hospitality workers filed a lawsuit against casino operators on Monday, accusing the companies of failing to protect employees from Covid-19, one of the first efforts to hold employers legally responsible for infections as cases in the U.S. surge. The lawsuit was filed in U.S. District Court in Las Vegas against the owners of Harrahâ??s, MGM Grand and Bellagio casino.
