Cindy George, Houston Chronicle 01/05/2016 | Read Article: Houston Chronicle | 90,000 Pounds of Beef Recalled for Wood Contamination | | Nearly 90,000 pounds of beef have been recalled by Huisken Meat Company, of Sauk Rapids, Minn., due to "extraneous wood materials." U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service announced on Tuesday that it would be recalling the large amount of beef. The recall applies to Sam's Choice Black Angus Vidalia Onion items produced on various dates between Nov. 19 and Dec. 9, 2015. The recall was initiated after foreign material was discovered during production. There have not yet been any reports of adverse reactions in connection with the recall. Staff Report, The Connecticut Post 01/05/2016 | Read Article: The Connecticut Post | Uber Drivers Excluded from Class Action File Suit | | Uber is facing a lawsuit by drivers who were left out of a class action lawsuit filed against the ride-sharing company last year. The lawsuit was filed by drivers who were excluded from the previous lawsuit because they drove for Uber through limo companies or signed up to drive using corporate or fictitious names. The lawsuit was filed in San Francisco's Superior Court and makes similar arguments to the originally lawsuit, mainly that Uber misclassified them as independent contractors, depriving them of rights such as business-expense reimbursements and gratuities.
