The case at hand is a railroad injury lawsuit filed against BNSF, a Delaware corporation whose principal place of business is Texas. "The U.S. Supreme Court agreed to review a Montana Supreme Court decision that ignores fundamental due process limits on the ability of state courts to exercise personal jurisdiction over out-of-state defendants," said a recent statement. BNSF is currently facing 33 lawsuits in the state of Montana. The lawsuit was filed by the father of the teen who died after consuming three and a half of the Monster Energy drinks. According to the wrongful death lawsuit, the teenager played basketball after drinking the caffeine-packed beverages. While on the court, the teen collapsed and was rushed to the hospital, where he died shortly after. His cause of death was ruled as cardiac arrhythmia triggered by excess caffeine consumption.
