Oklahoma
Says Companies Failed to Stop Pervasive Distribution of Opioids |
|
The state
of Oklahoma has filed a lawsuit against three major distributors of opioid
drugs. The lawsuit accuses McKesson Corp., Cardinal Health, and
AmerisourceBergen of contributing to the drug crisis by indiscriminately
sending billions of painkillers across the country. The lawsuit alleges the
companies failed to halt suspiciously large orders of drugs because they were
making so much money. Last year, the state won a court verdict against opioid
manufacturer Johnson & Johnson.
