InfoWars and Alex Jones have been ordered to pay $100,000 in a defamation lawsuit involving the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. The lawsuit was filed by the parent of a six-year-old child killed in the Sandy Hook school shooting against Jones and InfoWars after they spread a conspiracy theory that the school shooting never happened. A judge ordered the defendants to pay $100,000 after they failed to produce witnesses and other materials.

Lawsuit: Marriott Forced Black Woman to Sign 'No Party Policy'

Marriott has been hit with a racial discrimination lawsuit by a black woman who alleges she was required to sign a "no party policy" form at a hotel's front desk. The lawsuit alleges that white guests were not required to sign the form during their check-in. The California woman filed a $300,000 against the hotel chain alleging embarrassment, frustration, humiliation and "feelings of racial stigmatization."

Houston Hotel Chains Sued for Allegedly Promoting Sex Trafficking

Three sex trafficking victims have sued three major hotel chains in parallel lawsuits, claiming that the companies exercised gross negligence about on-site prostitution at Houston branches despite corporate policies that promote social responsibility. The lawsuits contend that Hilton Worldwide Holdings, Inc., Choice Hotels International, Inc., and Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, Inc. have not done enough to prevent sex trafficking at their franchises.

New Mexico Sues J&J Over Baby Powder

The attorney general of New Mexico, in a new lawsuit, accused Johnson & Johnson on Thursday of misleading consumers, especially children and black and Hispanic women, about the safety of its talc products. The company, he said, concealed and failed to warn consumers about the dangers associated with their talc products, which are thought to include lung disease, ovarian cancer and mesothelioma, a cancer of the lining of internal organs that is associated with asbestos.

Hacker Accused of Using Ring Cameras to Spy on Children

An Alabama man has filed a class action lawsuit alleging a hacker used his Ring security cameras to spy on his children. The lawsuit accuses the Amazon-owned company of negligence and invasion of privacy. The lawsuit cites a number of instances in which Ring cameras were accessed by hackers, including one incident in which an 8-year-old girl was harassed. The lawsuit was filed Thursday in Los Angeles federal court.

Mercedes Recalls 750K Cars
Mercedes-Benz is recalling roughly 750,000 cars because the vehicles sunroofs could potentially detach and fly off, causing road hazards. The cars include the Mercedes-Benz s C-Class, E-Class, CLK-Class and the CLS-Class, made between 2001 and 2011. The bonding material on those sunroofs can deteriorate, resulting in the sunroof detaching from the car, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Families Filing Suit Over 2019 Shooting at STEM School Highlands Ranch

A Colorado school district is facing a lawsuit filed by the families of victims of a school shooting that took place in May 2019. The four families filed a notice of claim against STEM School Highlands Ranch and the Douglas County School District alleging they did not provide adequate safety for students. As stated in the complaint, the defendants "failed to exercise reasonable care to protect Kendrick Castillo and all students, faculty and staff from harm."
