Dentists
Over-Prescribe Opioids |
|
More than
half of the opioid prescriptions written by U.S. dentists between 2011 and
2015 exceeded current government guidelines for treating pain associated with
dental procedures, a new study suggests. In an analysis of nearly 550,000
dental visits by adults, researchers found that opioid prescriptions were
written for more than the three-day maximum recommended by the Centers for
Disease Control and Prevention, according to the report in the American
Journal of Preventive Medicine.

Boeing's
'Bleed Air' System Allowed Toxic Air on Flight, Alleges Lawsuit |
|
Boeing is
facing a lawsuit alleging flight passengers and staff were made sick by
"toxic" contaminated air. The lawsuit alleges the plane's "bleed air" system,
which brings in outside air, causes air inside the cabin to be "mixed with
heated jet engine oil, hydraulic fluid and more, including certain chemical
compounds that could also be found in insecticides, pesticides and nerve gases
like Sarin gas." At the center of the lawsuit is a February 2018 flight that
left passengers and flight crew sick.
