Lawsuit Filed Against Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, Vatican
A man and a woman whose allegations have led to a criminal indictment against a former Montgomery County priest are behind a lawsuit against the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston for its handling of their accused abuser. The suit also takes aim at the Vatican for allowing Manuel La Rosa-Lopez to be ordained to the priesthood in 1996, even though church leaders â?? including former Bishop Joseph Fiorenza â?? were aware as early as 1992 that he had been accused of molesting a young parishioner at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Houston.

The case centers around a scandal that the team stole the pitching signs of another team. The plaintiff filed suit on behalf of full or partial season ticket holders accusing the team of â??deceptively overcharging them for season tickets while defendants and their employees and representatives knowingly and surreptitiously engaged in a sign-stealing scheme."
