An investigation has been launched in California into insurance company Aetna's denial of patient health care. The state began the investigation after claims that one of the nation's largest insurance provider's denied members' claims without reading the medical records. Dr. Jay Ken Iinuma, a former medical director at the company, admitted under oath that he never looked at patients' records when deciding whether to approve their claims. The disposition is part of a lawsuit against the insurance company filed by a college student which alleges breach of contract and bad faith.

The Motts accused the company of hiding the fact that it uses third-party contractors that had unlimited access to its facilities and that its security codes and locks were outdated and hadn’t been changed in years.

Houston Homebuilder RG Homes Facing New Legal Trouble

Angry homeowners have filed at least three new lawsuits against or in relation to a luxury home-building company whose owner has been indicted for a second-degree felony of tampering with a government document. The latest legal actions claim fraud, negligence and breach of contract against RG Homes, a Houston company that has developed a number of high-end homes in Bellaire, Braes Heights and other affluent neighborhoods. One of the lawsuits alleges that real estate agents and a prominent Houston brokerage firm colluded in order to collect a hefty commission on the sale of a $1.8 million RG home.
