New lawsuits filed against DuPont allege the company's release of chemicals has led around 60 people to develop testicular and kidney cancers. The company is accused of discharging toxic chemicals known as PFAS â?? perperfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances â?? into the water, causing the plaintiffs to develop cancer. In the settlement of an earlier lawsuit, thousands of people were awarded millions of dollars from DuPont over drinking water contamination. Lawsuit Filed After Infant Dies at Austin Daycare |

The death of a 5-month-old at an Austin, Texas, daycare center is the subject of a lawsuit filed by the child's parents. The baby was dropped off at the 1st Step Learning Center in Austin on March 15, 2018. Shortly after, the child was taken to the hospital post-cardiorespiratory arrest with a severe anoxic brain injury. The lawsuit seeks $1 million in damages and a jury trial against an employee and the director of the center.
