Topics discussed will include: changes in how taxes on attorney fees are determined, and the elimination of the 'below-the-line deduction' for legal fees; the numerous types of cases impacted by the changes, including insurance bad faith, employment, whistle blower, sexual harassment, intentional emotional distress, and punitive damages; and, the implications of the tax laws on settlement negotiations. Houston Texans' Cheerleading Coach Resigns Amid 'Body Shaming' Lawsuit |
|
Altovise Gary, cheerleading coach for the Houston Texans, has resigned from her position amid a body shaming lawsuit. The lawsuit accuses the coach of harassing female cheerleaders about their physical appearance and ethnicity. One plaintiff in the lawsuit alleged that Gary duct-taped her body because she was "skinny-fat." Another lawsuit was filed against the football team alleging failure to pay fair wages to cheerleaders while subjecting them to unsafe conditions.
