Mothers Chose Donor Sperm - Doctors Used Their Own

Scores of people born through artificial insemination have learned from DNA tests that their biological fathers were the doctors who performed the procedure. In June, Texas passed a fertility-fraud law, if a health care provider uses human sperm, eggs or embryos from an unauthorized donor, the law identifies the crime as a sexual assault. Those found guilty must register as sex offenders.

Abuse of Faith: 'The Women Are Hurting'

Unearthed tapes, letters show Southern Baptist leadersâ?? support for pastor who faced sex scandal. The release of the tapes comes as the Southern Baptist Convention confronts a sexual abuse crisis revealed in an investigation by the Chronicle and the San Antonio Express-News. That series, Abuse of Faith, found that more than 400 church leaders and volunteers had been credibly accused of sexual misconduct in the past 20 years.

Lawsuit: Texas School Forced African American Student to Fill in Haircut with Sharpie

A school district in Pearland, Texas, is facing a lawsuit after a middle school student was forced to fill in his haircut with a marker. According to the complaint, the seventh grader was forced to use a Sharpie marker to fill in his hair design. As stated by school officials, the 13-year-old student's "African American 'fade' haircut violated" the Berry Miller Junior High School dress code policy. The lawsuit was filed on Sunday against Principal Tony Barcelona, Discipline Clerk Helen Day, another official and the Pearland School District. The family seeks monetary damages, declaratory judgement, and injunctive relief, in addition to a jury trial.
